Built for extended range cruising, the new SC 42 extends the performance and handling of the new Hinckley sport cruisers to a LOA of 42 feet. It`s a canvas large enough to let you paint any world you want: from day cruising with family or friends to deepwater weekends in search of adventure. The SC 42 is a swift, safe and powerful sport cruiser, flawlessly crafted to uphold the 75 year tradition of Hinckley excellence.
Beneath her distinctive style lies the newest, most advanced boat-building technologies. Her hull uses Kevlar and carbon fiber as part of our innovative DualGaurd composite construction. Twin 500 HP diesels powering a prop-drive propulsion system can accelerate the SC 42 to a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed of 34. For those who demand even more power, the SC 42 is available with either twin 720 HP Yanmar or 730 HP Man diesels as an option. With a mere 3`6` draft, the SC 42 rewards you with that rarest of yachting pleasures - a peaceful anchorage. And her height was carefully planned to allow anyone cruising the intercoastal waters to pass safely under bridges along the way. Cruising range is 265 nautical miles, putting plenty of distance between you and civilization, if you so desire.
With a wide beam of more than 14 feet, the SC 42 offers plenty of space both on deck and below. The interior plan is highly flexible: The settee transforms into a double bed, the table is removable and the forward seating is reversible. On-deck refrigeration and storage is a plus for entertaining.
The helm affords a 360-degree view of the cherry finish, while the V-berth features a roomy galley, a cedar-lined hanging locker and a full head with a separate, enclosed shower. Large hatches and multiple opening ports allow you to bring the outside in when desired, bathing the V-berth in light. And like all Hinckley powerboats, the SC 42 is quiet, its engine insulated by double-gasket hatches. At cruising speeds, conversation and contentment flow freely.
