Fashionable motor yacht with outstanding qualities Smarter, roomier, easier to handle and with gentler lines, yet still an attractive, traditional motor yacht. The new SRC 465 is a proud ship with a fashionable style and a design that stands out above the rest.
This has always been the case and the new Storebro 465 Biscay is no exception. This 14.2 metre long motor yacht is designed to attract seasoned members of the boating community. She`s a boat for people who really love the sea, people for whom boats are their life, which is nothing new for Storebro. Open dialogue with owners and a close-knit knowledgable project group have secured the design of the hull, interior and flying bridge. One of the subjects on the preliminary design list was a smooth-running hull that would create as little wash as possible, have a low planing threshold yet be so finely balanced that there would be no over-planing at maximum speed. And as if that`s not enough, they also wanted a low sound level, outstanding seaworthiness and, if possible, a faster yacht than her predecessors.
The responsibility for fusing together all these ideas and requirements fell to John H. V. Lindblom, who was to work in close collaboration with Storebro`s own development team led by Bent Quorning and Kent Wistrm. Bent Quorning is a boatbuilder from Denmark, who over a number of years has developed several Nimbus Boats models. Kent Wistrm, who runs Storebro`s yard in Vstervik, is a naval architect M.Sc. and has a sound knowledge of boats. John H. V. Lindblom has already fathered a couple of older Storebro boats and knows Storebro`s philosophy well, a guarantee that Storebro`s fine concepts will be renewed with care.
