Maine yacht designers are famous for favoring common sense over the dictates of fashion. That trait comes through loud and clear in the classic lines of the Spencer Lincoln-designed NEB 42. Evolved from rugged fishing-boat hulls, the 42`s fine, graceful entry slices through waves without pounding and provides a smooth, dry ride. The NEB 42 is a capable passagemaker for extended cruising (and her 20-knot cruising speed will expand the cruising grounds for day trips). And the boat also has the right stuff to qualify as a serious, all-weather sportfishing vehicle. The NEB 42 is available as a sedan with an enclosed main cabin and large open cockpit or as an aft-cabin flybridge cruiser (main picture above) with three sleeping cabins; choose between a teak, cherry, or mahogany interior. Like all NEB boats, the 42 is custom-built to the owner`s specs.

Most planing or semi displacement hulls need a great deal of power and fuel just to drive the boat up out of the water and onto a plane. The NorEast design uses less power while providing you with a more comfortable ride. The NEB 42 is available with a single Caterpillar 600HP diesel or twin Yanmar diesels to satisfy your preference in handling. With the single engine option, the NEB 42 can match the performance of most deep-V boats with twin engines, but with single-engine simplicity, efficiency and economy! Bow thrusters are standard on both configurations.
