Many consider the variable degree dead-rise hull of the Helms 21 to be the best riding hull on the water today. The Helms 21 gives you the ride of a deep-v and the fuel economy and stability of a modified-v hull. The Helms 21 was built with the family fisherman in mind, whether running far offshore, drifting the grass flats, or taking a picnic on the beach the Helms 21 can do it all in comfort and style. One of the biggest 21? boats on the water logically arranged to give you more. Things such as an oversized console and Euro style transom that take up too much room have been eliminated, giving you more room to fight the fish of your dreams. Of course you can still bring the family along. With seating for 6, everyone can join in on the fun. Many of the standard features on the Helms 21 are called options on other boats, such as above deck lighted live well, hydraulic steering, leaning post with rocket launcher, pop-up cleats and bow light. Options such as a custom leaning post and live well or bow cushions to stretch out and get a tan are also available.

Hull
The Helms 21 hull was originaly desgined as an offshore race boat. It has two key feature that make it different from most other boats. First the two longitudinal step on each side of the hull devide each side of the hull bottom into three pannels. Each Pannel from the center has less deadrise. Starting at the keel the deadrise is 22deg. then 20deg. the 18deg. What this means is that when the boat is resting in the water there is very little roll like a regular Deep-V and while it is running it rides just like a regular Deep-V. Another added benifite is better fuel economy. Because the hull dose not use lifting strakes like most, you will experience very little pounding. Infact most owners have to try to get her to pound at all. The sharp entry of the Helms 21 will tame rough conditions.
