Boat Description

The Mathews Brothers Classic Bay Cruiser is an elegant yacht in 22 feet, perfect for traveling in style on day trips along the Chesapeake`s bays, coves and creeks. Built on a Lempke deadrise workboat hull giving it a distinctive Bay character, it provides the classic look of a larger yacht finish boat, but the ease of handling a smaller craft can offer. Teak appointments include a toe rail, coaming cap, bowsprit, handrails and the signature Mathews Brothers eyebrow. An optional teak transom and swim platform are also available. The cuddy cabin with four fixed ports and an opening hatch contains a V-berth with storage. A teak bulkhead houses the electrical panel along with a hanging locker. The interior of the cabin is trimmed in teak and the sole is finished in teak and holly. We craft the windshield in fiberglass with teak as an option. In the cockpit, there are two pedestal seats are forward with a comfortable bench seat in the stern. Some of our clients have chosen a teak sole for the cockpit, whereas a nonskid cockpit is standard. The Classic Bay Cruiser comes as either an inboard our outboard. We outfit the inboard version with a 100hp Yanmar diesel that enables the yacht to cruise comfortably in the 18 to 20 knot range. The inboard version utilizes a 38 gallon fuel tank.
