On deck the Design Teams thinking is easy to recognise in that the 68 has an unusually large cockpit, with twin wheels and very easy access to the aft deck. This style of cockpit layout, which was first incorporated on the Oyster 63 Pilot Saloon and proved to work very well, gives excellent protection for guests and crew who prefer to keep clear of running rigging and want protection from the elements. The helmsman is ideally positioned, with excellent visibility to sail and dock the yacht with many of the sail handling controls within easy reach.
