We identified the void in the market for a fast cruising yacht, that living on board for extended periods of time would be a pleasure and not a hardship and in addition, exciting and enjoyable to sail in all conditions. To create a yacht that could fulfil this demanding brief required approaching the worlds leading yacht designers, Farr Yacht Design. Using their organisations unparalleled knowledge of yacht design, materials and structures we have created a yacht that is light enough to allow you to sail in light airs and strong enough to withstand the worst that all the oceans in the world can throw at it.
The Farr 645 is the first of the new, BSI Marine built, Farr Deck Saloon range to hit the water. Utilising the successful Farr Millenium 65 hull, this new performance cruiser comes with an impressive track record having proved itself during the 2000 fleet circumnavigation and again in the 2001 Atlantic rally for cruisers. Here, Spirit of Diana not only won this popular cruising event overall in 2001, but broke the record for the fastest crossing in the process. More recently the 2002 she repeated her ARC performance, this time taking line and handicap honours.
Be it on the race course or at one of the worlds most picturesque anchorages, the next generation of cruising and racing yachts may satisfy very different roles, but both have never had so much in common. The Farr 645 combines both of these roles.
When it comes to her construction, theres no question that she leads the field both in terms of the materials and techniques that she employs, as well as the credentials that she comes with. Designed by Farr Yacht Design with structural engineering by High Modulus and built in our own yard in Sweden, the new Farr 645 is the model for the next generation.
